Understand the factors behind corporate video, reel, podcast and product shoot pricing without relying on misleading flat rates.

1. Start with the creative brief

A 30-second product reel and a multi-location brand film require very different planning. Define objective, audience, platform, style and final runtime.

2. Crew and equipment

Camera operators, sound recordists, lighting specialists, producers and assistants are scoped based on complexity. Additional cameras and specialised equipment can change the budget.

3. Studio or location

A controlled studio shoot may reduce weather and location uncertainty. Off-site shoots can involve permissions, transport, power, art direction and logistics.

4. Shoot duration

A half-day, full-day and multi-day shoot have different staffing and equipment requirements. Setup and pack-down are part of production time.

5. Editing and revisions

Editing, colour correction, sound mix, motion graphics, subtitles and multiple aspect ratios should be specified. Agree on review rounds and change requests.
